gayle blog picOn March 6th, 2007, my wife Gayle was diagnosed with breast cancer. This is the story, in her own words, of her daily life as she meets the challenge of overcoming. It is the story of the good days and bad, the tests and treatments, the questions and answers, but most importantly, the learning and strengthening that comes with any trial.

When I realized that she was keeping a detailed journal of her thoughts and inner most feelings, I asked her if I could provide a place for everyone to see them. There is something that happens between the mind and the fingers when expression of thought occurs in written form; something mysterious, yet affirming. Gayle is normally a fairly private person, not given to publicizing her inner most thoughts for everyone to see, so this undertaking is not something she approaches lightly. But as she suddenly finds herself facing the challenge of her life, there seems to be a sense of urgency to share this life experience that is common to so many other women. I believe that her words can bring inspiration and hope to others whose only common bond is that of having dealt with a disease that, while weakening the physical, can be an opportunity to strengthen the spirit through the grace that can only come from a our loving Father in heaven.

It’s been over a year since I started this incedible journey with breast cancer.  I thought I would keep this blog up for a year or so and then take it down.  I have found that it has helped others by simply being a place where they can come and recognize that their feelings are normal.  I therefore, will leave the blog up for a while.  I haven’t been as good updating it as I have been in the past but if you want to contact me, please feel free to use the email addresses below…I will always be available for anyone who needs to talk!
